Searching for the best of opera, wine & hotels
After receiving his Master of International Business Administration (Mag.rer.soc.oec.) at the University of Vienna, Stephan Burianek re-enrolled at the same university to dedicate himself to Theatre Studies. His post-graduate career was divided between the PR and Marketing departments at well-known cultural institutions such as Tanzquartier Wien (Vienna) and the Bayreuth Festival (Germany). During those years, he started writing art reviews and travel features.
What was once a hobby is now a fulltime career: As a freelance journalist, he writes travel, culture and lifestyle features and has contributed primarily to high-profile newspapers and magazines in Germany, Austria and Switzerland, such as „Die Zeit“, „Neue Zürcher Zeitung“ and „Die Presse”. He was the chief editor of a German opera magazine from April 2017 to December 2018 and has his own column in the „Connoisseur Circle“. From October 2012 to January 2014 he edited the website Jin Sha Blog – The China Luxury Travel Market Observer, before stopping it due to annoying hacker attacs.
